What is lidocaine topical?

Lidocaine is a local anesthetic (anesthetic). It can stop your body's nerve signal.

Lidocaine for the skin is used to relieve pain or discomfort caused by skin irritation, such as sunburn, insect bites, poison ivy, poison oak, poison, and minor cuts, scratches or burns. Lidocaine is also used locally to treat rectal discomfort caused by hemorrhoids.

Local administration of lidocaine can also be used for purposes not listed in this drug guideline.

How to use lidocaine topical?

Follow the instructions on the label or use the medicine as prescribed by the doctor. Do not use this dose more than recommended.

Local use of lidocaine may cause death.

Lidocaine has many different forms (gel, spray, cream, lotion, ointment, liquid, skin patch).

Do not stuttering lidocaine topically for the skin. If this medicine is rinsed in your eyes, nose, mouth, rectum or vagina, rinse with water.

Use the minimum amount of drugs to heal the skin or relieve pain. If you use too much, if you apply it to a large number of skin areas, or if you use heat, bandages or plastic wrap for treated skin areas, your body may absorb too much of this medicine. Cut or irritate the skin may also absorb more topical medication than healthy skin.

Do not use this medicine in swollen skin areas or deep puncture wounds. Avoid using drugs for raw or blistering skin, such as severe burns or abrasions.

Unless your doctor tells you, do not cover the treated skin.

Lidocaine can be applied locally with your fingertips or cotton swabs.

If your medication is provided with safe and effective use of the patient, please read it carefully. If you have any questions, please consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Store at room temperature to avoid moisture and heat.

Keep used and unused lidocaine local skin patches in children or pets at your fingertips. The amount of lidocaine in the skin patch may cause injury to children or pets who occasionally suck or swallow the patch. If this happens, seek emergency medical assistance.

What happens if I miss the dose?

Due to the use of lidocaine topical if necessary, you may not be able to take the dosing plan. If you are arranging, please use the missed dose as soon as possible. If the next scheduled dose is almost time, skip the missed dose. Do not use extra drugs to make up for missed doses.
